Celebrating interdisciplinary works-in-progress by femmes of color!

About Bitchin’ Collabs 2020:
Bitchin’ Collabs is an exciting new residency supporting interdisciplinary works-in-progress by femmes of color! EBP will provide a platform for artists to share, develop and receive feedback on their dynamic, interdisciplinary works-in-progress over the course of EBP’s 2020 Season. Devoted entirely to femmes of color, EBP’s goal in launching this series is to create an accessible outlet for artists to experiment with new ideas and to offer audiences an inside look into an artist’s process. Bitchin’ Collabs will offer a collaborative playground for experimentation in a low stakes, highly professional environment. The program will feature four performance exhibitions throughout the 2020 season, with opportunity for these artists to continue developing these pieces-in-process throughout the season. EBP will grant six artists with this residence opportunity to develop and present their works-in-progress to an audience as well as a team of skilled personnel, who will provide creative and technical support. For the live programming, this will include a production designer who will consult on scenic, sound & lighting design. Personnel for the Bitchin’ Collabs series will also include a curator to lead the series and offer guidance to the artists throughout their process.

Compensation: Each artist will receive a stipend plus a modest project budget for the season.

Bitchin’ Collabs 2020 - Digital Presentations:
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, EBP has adjusted the first two events of this series to take place virtually. Artists will have the opportunity to collaborate with a Virtual Technical Producer to assist in the presentation and documentation of their work. This presentation may take on a variety of forms depending on the needs and desires of the artists and their content. Our goal is to assist performance-based femme artists of color in making awesome digital presentations of their work, which will not only serve to keep them creative and working during this difficult time, but will also provide solid material that they can utilize or develop in the future.
